Developed by the priests of Tatyana, this spell suspends and cleanses all poisons
and diseases within a few hours. Though slower-acting than a Cure Disease or
Neutralize poison, this spell protects against additional infections while it is
active.
When the spell is cast, it suspends the progress of all poisons and diseases in
the target's system, delaying any remaining effects or durations until after the
spell expires. Likewise, any poison or disease that enters the target's system is
suspended until after the spell expires. If a posion has not yet reached its onset time,
this spell acts just like the "Slow Poison" spell, delaying the onset time until after the
spell expires.
Finally, each hour that the spell is active, it slowly cleanses the target's
system of any poisons and diseases, while surpressing any symptoms that the target
may be suffering from the afflictions. It reduces the effects and durations of
each posion and disease by 1/10th each hour that the spell is in effect. For example,
a poison that normally deals 20 points of damage is reduced by 2 points each hour until
the spell expires or the poison's damage is reduced to 0. A deadly poison (require a
save to avoid death) is treated as a poison that deals damage equal to 10 plus the target's
maximum hitpoints.
Any poison or disease cleansed by this spell for 10 hours or more is completed
purged from the target's system.
This spell does not affect poisons or diseases that are cured or ran their course
prior to the time of casting.
The material components of this spell are healing herbs worth at least 2gp per
level of the target, prepared in whatever form is appropriate to the herbs (ground, mixed,
etc.). The herbs are applied to the target or ingested, as appropriate, at the
time of casting.
This spell is granted to followers of Tatyana and to Druids. Priests of
other nature-based faiths have a 70% chance of gaining this spell, while priests of other
faiths only have a 20% chance of gaining this spell.
