According to legend, an extremely potent version of this spell was first cast by
the goddess Jhuntara in her struggle against a dark entity that threatened to
consume her life force. By focusing her holy fury into a bright bolt of energy,
she was able to destroy the entity before it could consume the last of her
powers.
In order to cast this spell, the caster must be of lawful-neutral or good
alignment, and must have at least one hand free (the caster can be wearing gloves,
gauntlets, or bracers). The target must be evil or undead, and must be in the
caster's line-of-sight at the time of casting. Any attempt to target a non-evil,
living creature will cause the spell to fail.
When the spell is cast, a bolt of holy energy flies from the outstretched hand of
the cleric and travels unerringly to its intended target. The bolt tracks its
target at 20' per second until it strikes its target or a solid object. Upon
impact, the bolt explodes in a brilliant white light, dealing damage to all evil and
undead creatures within a 15' radius. Creatures that are vulnerable to bright light
may also be affected, at the DM's option. The struck creature suffers 4d6 points of
damage, plus 2 points per level of the caster. All other affected creatures suffer 3d6
points of damage, plus 2 points per level of the caster.
All affected creatures may save vs. Spell for half damage, but the struck creature
suffers a -1 penalty to its save for every 4 levels of the caster. If the struck
creature fails its saving throw, consult the chart below.
| Failed Save By: |
Affect:* |
| 1 to 2 |
-2 penalty to attack and damage rolls for 1d4+1 rounds |
| 3 to 5 |
Stunned and/or Silenced (DM's Option) for 1d4+2 rounds |

| 9 or more |
Save vs. Death** |
The material component for this spell is the priest's holy symbol, which is not
expended.
The spell is available to all priests of Jhuntara and (later) Auriana. It is rarely granted
(25%) to priests of other LG, NG, and CG priesthoods.
* At the DM's option, an undead creature can instead be affected as though turned by
a cleric X levels higher than the caster, where X is the amount that the
creature failed its save by.
** The creature must save vs. Death. If it fails, the creature's body/form is completed
consumed by the holy energy. Otherwise, the creature loses consciousness for 1d4+4 rounds
from the near-fatal shock.
