This is a view of the inner courtyard of the castle keep owned by the player characters
in my current campaign. This view is from the center of the courtyard, facing towards
the front of the castle. Although you cannot see it from here, The light on the other
side of the stained-glass window is from the entrance hall of the castle.
The walls and supports were made using stretched cube primitives, with a cinder-block
pattern applied to each section individually. The central window took the longest to
make, consisting of several layers of boolean cyliders and tori. I then applied a flat
glass panel with a bitmap of a midieval scene. The lamps and benches are adapted from
several free-for-use designs out on the web. For the pathway around the reflecting pool,
I created a bump map from a stonework texture, then used the bump map to create a 3D
terrain object. I then applied the original stonework texture to the terrain, and
aligned it so it would match the cracks and crevices of the terrain.
